Pangwalo, GROW UP..

You can't win their obedience if you would just rant about it in your blog. Show them that you're the boss! Remember that you're after their output, not their affection.

Set demands! Make them realize that the org you're heading is IMPORTANT more than anything else.

Being a student leader is like driving a manual car down the bumpy road. It's hard...but it would be more difficult if your vehicle is unconditioned. You'll be losing control over your car if the windows are blurred, the breaks are not working, the wheels are slippery...That's why you have to check it regularly. Tune the parts if they're going astray. Replace them if necessary. You don't want to be meeting an accident in any road, right?

Thirdy, since you are the leader, you are the driver of that car. Your teammates are the parts that let the car run. It would be important to have control over them... I'm not saying that they don't have their own brains so they can't work on their own. It's just that you got to have them glued to your organization. Take care of those who could work well. Reprimand those who won't give a damn in their assigned work. When I say reprimand, let them feel it, ok?

As the utmost head of the org, you have to know everything. If the org succeeds, you would be the most rewarded. But if the org fails, you would be the most embarrassed.

Think think think.

Words:

1. Empowerment - "Leadership is about telling other what to do and letting them surprise you with their outcomes"

2. System - A group of individuals working together

3. Organization - A group of individuals working together towards a common goal

A president is not a driver. He's a facilitator.
