Condura Skyway Marathon is an annual race for a cause that
covers the Skyway. This year, the race was held on February 3 with the race
start at the Alabang Filinvest. The
event was also organized in the benefit of the Mangroves in Zambales, same as
last year.
Pre-Race
Blogger Friend Deemen Runner had assisted me in registering
for this event. We registered 21km as documented in his blog post. The Condura
Skyway Marathon was part of the TBRDM training plan so I was already training before
the event.
I planned to run at an easy pace since it was TBRDM training
run after all. Good thing CJ paced with me. We ran the first 5km and did 3-1
galloway for the rest of the race. With the help of my garmin, we were able to
keep track of the supposed walk breaks. Also following a lesson from a TBR Bull
Circle, I learned not to fight gravity and take frequent walk breaks at uphills
and let gravity help you at downhills by running fast. Skyway route was all
about uphill and downhill. It was a real challenge. We finished at 2:49.
My favorite snack is the banana
After meeting with Pex Running Club, we met Deemen Runner at the Acacia Hotel (anlayo lang
nito), we followed our PRC teammates to McDo which turned out to be farther
than we expected. Puro lakad lang itong Condura weekend na ito ah.
Proud 21k finisher
