Alaska advocates a healthy & active lifestyle with its summer Alaska Power Camps

According to the Food and Nutrition Research Institute’s 7th National Nutrition Survey in 2008, at least 16 million Filipinos aged 20 and above, and about 2 out of 10 children are overweight. Undernutrition also remains to be a public health concern affecting nearly 3 out 10 children. Also recently, there have been prevalent issues on change in children’s interests and behaviors brought by fast-changing technological environment.

With these alarming concerns, Alaska Milk Corporation is committed to help provide proper nutrition and promote an active lifestyle. Thus every summer, Alaska gathers basketball, football and volleyball enthusiasts through its Alaska Power Camps. The summer sports program inspires both girls and boys to engage in sports.  Moreover, through basketball, football and volleyball, the child does not only improve his/her talent but also acquire proper skills development and formation of the Power Camp values of discipline, determination, hard work, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Distinguished Philippine sports icons will lead the Alaska Power Camps. First, Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) legend and Alaska Aces assistant coach Jeffrey Cariaso will lead a team of basketball coaches.  Second, former professional football player and currently Alaska Football Power Camp Project Director and Alabang Football School, Makati Football School Director, Tomas Lozano will lead the Alaska Football Power Camp. Lastly, Philippine Super Liga volleyball player and former De La Salle University Lady Spikers star volleyball player, Michele Gumabao, will lead a team of volleyball experts in teaching aspiring young girls in the Alaska Volleyball Power Camp.

NESTEA Love the Beach: A Call to Chillax Responsibly

(Manila, Philippines, 15 March 2016) To officially kick off summer’s most anticipated event in Boracay, NESTEA raises the bar by giving back to the beach we love as it launches the NESTEA Love the Beach campaign on March 15 at the Palace Pool Club.

Now on its 19^th year, NESTEA Love the Beach takes the lead in preserving Boracay’s shores through responsible tourism and various activities that keep the island clean.

To make the advocacy bigger and more sustainable this year, NESTEA is partnering with Boracay Foundation Inc. (BFI), a non-profit organization composed of over 150 members representing Boracay’s leading establishments, residents, and expatriates, which aims to bolster the island’s environmental, business, and social needs. Together with BFI and NESTEA brand ambassadors Jessy Mendiola, Tom Taus, Joyce Pring, Sam YG and Arisse De Santos, NESTEA is enjoining everyone to take part in coral rescue & replanting and shore & underwater cleanups.

NESTEA Love the Beach, in partnership with Mikasa, the official volleyball of the 19^th NESTEA Beach Volleyball Tournament, also promises an exciting time for volleyball fans and players alike with the return of its iconic intercollegiate beach volleyball competition on April 28. The country’s biggest volleyball belles Abigail Marano, Ella De Jesus, Melissa Gohing, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Rachel Anne Daquis, Michelle Gumabao, Cha Cruz, and Sheila Pineda will also be facing each other in the ultimate beach volleyball showdown in the 2nd NESTEA Fantasy Volleyball Match on April 29-30.
