The Ultimate TEVA Trail Challenge

Press Release

The vast outdoor bore witness once again as the metro’s most avid active sport athletes and race warriors went head to head and pushed their physical capabilities in the recently concluded TEVA Trail Challenge held last July 28.

Strategically organized to gather individuals with a passion for adrenaline-pumping adventures, the TEVA Trail Challenge also signified the re-launch of TEVA as the ultimate outdoor footwear brand of choice by athletic greats with its uniquely tasteful designs and use of a distinctively innovative technology called the Tevasphere.

To further elaborate Teva’s footwear technology, the race took place within the lush eco-community of Earthheaven in San Mateo Rizal, a 20-hectare oasis where runners communed with nature as they race across majestic sceneries and breath-taking mountain landscapes – emphasizing what TEVA is truly all about.

Divided into two categories, around 300 runners battled it as soon as the gun fired in the 5k Warrior and 10k Elite race. Challenging obstacles awaited them in each turn of the muddy man-made road and proved to be a grueling test that exhausted their rigors.

In the end, all finishers took home TEVA loot bags on top of the honor of completing the first-ever TEVA trail challenge in the country. Raffle prizes were also given away. Meanwhile, the top three male and female race winners in each category were hailed as the ultimate trail champions by TEVA along with a slew of memorable prizes.

All the fun and excitement certainly did not end along with the race as interactive product booths were set up by TEVA to demonstrate its newest technology. In addition, mini-challenges and random raffle prizes were given away to participants care of the event sponsors. Indeed, the TEVA Trail Challenge proved to be a one-of-a-kind trail running event as it also served as a day that celebrated active fitness.

After all, that is what TEVA is all about as it aims to boost the abilities of its wearer with its innovative technologies that will complement all kinds of outdoor activities.
All over the world, TEVA attracts passionate adventurers with a love for active sports and a penchant for exploring the great unknown. From its beginnings as a sports sandal brand, it has now evolved into a highly-competitive outdoor footwear brand.

The event was sponsored by The Legend Villas, Timbuk2, R.O.X., Res Toe Run, Crystal Clear, Choco Boom, Magic Flakes, Gatorade, Sony, Walkman and Eartheaven. Media Partners: The Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin, Sports Digest Magazine, Dispatch Magazine, Gala Magazine, and WhenInManila.com

Adidas Crowned the Philippines’ King and Queen of the Road 2013

Adidas Crowned the Philippines’ King and Queen of the Road 2013

Manila, July 7 – adidas King of the Road 2013 proved to be one of the biggest and most anticipated races in the Philippines. Over 7,000 runners gathered at Bonifacio Global City to strive for the title of King and Queen of the Road.

adidas, an advocate of the running sport all over the world, continued its commitment by providing an opportunity for runners to engage in their passion. King of the Road does not only promote a healthy lifestyle, but camaraderie through healthy competition.

Over 7,000 runners gathered at Bonifacio Global City last July 7 for the
Philippine Leg of King of the Road 2013. I was one of them

This year’s race garnered more than 8,000 registered runners spread over three categories, 16.8k, 10k, and a new category, the 10k School Championship relay, which allows pairs to run 5k each. Race routes were marked with specific race distances and volunteer cheerleaders to encourage runners to cross the finish line. Celebrities like Sam YG, Karylle, Ramon Bautista, Isabelle Daza, Erwan Heusssaff and Rovilson Fernandez also supported the race.

The Philippines’ King and Queen of the Road, placing first in the 16.8K Closed (All-Filipino) category, are defending champion, Eduardo Buenavista with a running time of 54 minutes and 24 seconds, and May Joy Tabal with a running time of 1 hour, 7 minutes, and 47 seconds, beating last year’s Queen Mary Grace delos Santos by around 2 minutes. Buenavista and Tabal were both awarded Php25,000 and will be representing the Philippines in the King of the Road Southeast Asia, which will be happening on October in Malaysia.

This year’s King and Queen of the Road, representing the Philippines in KOTR Southeast Asia in Malaysia are Eduardo Buenavista and May Joy Tabal

For the 16.8K Open (International) category, the winners were Josphat Kiptanui Too with a running time of 51 minutes and 41 seconds, and Joan Aiyabei with a running time of 1 hour, 5 minutes, and 12 seconds.

The race also signaled the launch of the new colors of the adidas Energy Boost. Featuring the ground-breaking cushioning technology BOOST™, which provides the highest energy return in the running industry, has set a new benchmark for adidas running footwear. Launched in the Philippines earlier in the year, now, BOOST™ is being rolled out to more adidas running products and colors. The shoes were on display at the race through a selling booth and on celebrities as they ran.

Subic Fit Fest: November Wellness Expo All Set in Subic

With sports, fitness, and wellness gaining so much following in the last two years, it is not a surprise that fitness and wellness centers are mushrooming all over the country. So many different sports events like marathons, triathlons, and even boot camp sessions are lined up for a whole year that the enthusiasts would already have a difficult time squeezing in an activity or two into their busy schedules, not to mention having second thoughts of joining for fear of not being able to keep up.

The Subic Fitness Festival (SFF), happening on November 15, 16, and 17 this year, promises to make sports, fitness, and wellness available to everyone by showcasing a large Expo of different products and services, multi-sport events, fun group exercise classes, and awesome performances all over the soon-to-be Sports Capital of the Country. Some of the highlights are a Zumba Fitness Party, a Yoga Super Class, an Urban Dance Challenge, an Invitational Triathlon competition, a Victory Night Run, and a battle of the fittest teams (or gyms) - The Circuit Warz.

Sports and fitness enthusiasts from Metro Manila, nearby provinces and, hopefully, some from Visayas and Mindanao are expected to take part in this exciting hallmark event.

SFF is the project of F & F Events International in partnership with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and the Ayala Harbor Point Mall.
